Oct. 11th, 2007 @ 09:12 pm For Old Times Sake
I was just reading this thing for old times sake, and found it quite amusing that a few entries back I was complaining about color balancing, and that I said I was going to print 20x30 for thesis. Well, it's thesis year, but I'm not quite up to 20x30, rather 20x24. When it's matted and framed though, it will hang roughly 30x34, so I think that counts.
And for the record, I don't have problems color balancing anymore.
I do, however, have a problem with there not being a 4x5 view camera for me to check out to take my next image and do my architecure project. I also have a problem finding a doll small enough to use that I actually Like for these set-ups.
So, if you have a 4x5 view camera or 3" dolls of any material, let me know I would love to rent.

I thought livejournal was dead, but if I let it die I cut myself off from a great many people, so i guess I'll be back once in awhile.

May. 8th, 2006 @ 11:33 pm I died and turned into a seahorse.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Why did I stop. My psycological noise moved onto something else.

SO what's up kids left at the LJ world. I think this is pretty much a dead science.

I'm taking SCUBA class this semester. I feel like a mermaid.

I turn 21 this Saturday.

I move back home soon too, though i am here, none of my stuff is. And i'm okay to be back for a little while, though I know I'll soon be longing for next winter when I can be gone again.

What: Zombie photo shoot/ First bonfire of the season
Where: The beach by my house
When: starting around 5:30 Thursday night, April 13.
Why: I need models
Who: People I know
How: Pizza for dinner; hair and makeup with photo shoot until after the sunset; then bonfire with smores.

It isn't going to be a scary thing, more of a voguish fun thing for my final Color Photography project. Would love it if anyone can make it. Park at the beach, or the park across the street. I won't keep ou out too late, but the bonfire can go as long as needed.

So.........

I'm allergic to milk.

I completely just bombed a critique... not with the picture (that was good), but with the presentation, because I had already spend $70 on this ONE project (I have 7 going by the way) and I couldn't afford new matte board. I can't afford anthing, I am completely broke... and it totally sucks that I am going to get marked down because she gives us expensive projects. Whatev.

On the bright side I might actually get to pay rent because I entered a bookmaking contest and actually GOT IN and I am going to WIN AN AWARD. saWEet. Don't know what it is, probably like $25, but hey... they could give me a dollar and i would be happy (but not as happy) cause that is another show under my belt (up to 4... 16 to go).

Anybody want to buy some Polaroid 669 film ($15) or some Illford Matte Fiber based B&W paper 100 sheet box ($50)?? Thats cheaper than what I bought it for... way cheaper on the Illford.

What else is new? Absolutly freaking nothing because my life has been taken over with projects and trying to color print cause I can' color balance to SAVE MY LIFE! It took me 6 hours my first try, 7 my second, and 8.5 this past time... WT??? I thought you were suppose to get better with practice? In conclusion, when I have my thesis shows, all of my work will be 20x30 or larger cause if I am going to take that long to print, it migt as well be worth it.

Does anyone need ther senior pictures taken or anything??? Anything to get me a little extra cash?... well, not anything, bt yea...

Post 5 WEIRD and RANDOM facts about yourself, then at the end of the list the names of 5 people who are next in line to do this. Also leave a comment on their lj to let them know.

1. I am going to start a business... selling homemade lunches to college students.

2. I just sneezed several times in succession.

3. This summer I am going to live in a hammock on the beach.

4. I like to dance when i am alone in the darkroom and there are people in the next room.

5. Once I was at Steak & Shake with some of my friends and I thought of Will Farrell saying "Shirpa" and I laughed for a verry long time, so much that i cried and my face turned purple. For weeks afterward everytime i said the word i would crack up. I just got over that. Then the other day at school this guy walked past and he was like... "hmmm... shirpa... shhhhiiirrrppppaaaa." I just stared at him, I have never heard ANYONE else use that word. It was amazing.

5 people:
1. Megan
2. Kimmi
3. Nicole
4. Jenna
5. Steph

EDIT: When I wrote the below I was in a BAD mood. As it turns out, as I figured out today when i was in a normal mood... I LOVE my job. It really is awesome, and I just don't like the fact that there is a scheduled something that I have to do and I can't just sit around and waste my time.

I got a job in the Muskegon Mall for the weekends and my break here. I liked it for awhile. Now I am just so freaking sick of everything. I want to quit and be a bum.

There is a conspiricy. I had a terrible Thanksgiving week, I didn't get a real turkey dinner. Christmas was my chance at that and I was looking forward to that. Then my family went and changed the time we were meeting... to a time that i have to work... so no turkey dinner for me... nor family time. I am ticked off.

I finished my first semester. For that last week I was at school 16-18 hours a day. SICK I know, but it was worth it.

I'm poor, I'm hungry, and everything is crap.

The only thing that isn't crap is the fact that we went to Mars Hill this morning, and it was absolutly amazing and I am going to go there forever now. I <3 Mars Hill and God.

By trial and error, last night Megan L. and I found out:

1. When carving a pumpkin, stick to the easy patterns... don't try those complicated designs unless you have a moderate knowlege of pumpkin carving.

2. You need to carve holes big enough to let AIR in to the candle.

3. THe stringy stuff inside the pumpkin is NOT used to make pumpkin pie (or anything else for that matter)

4. The hard part of the pumpkin, once the edge is cut off (and cooked with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg) IS used to make pumpkin pie.

5. Pumpkin tea (or at least our version) tastes like licking the slime off an old piece of pumpkin pie.

6. Cooked pumpkn pulp looks like roast beef.

7. Pumpkin seeds are good but the outside begins to taste like wood after a bit and the inner seed is green but delicious but not salted like outside.

8. Megan's mom doesn't like the smell of pumpkins.

9. After last night and all our experimenting, i don't know if I like the smell of pumpkins.

10. I am going to become an organic farmer and chef and Megan and I are going to open a cafe thing. We will have spiced pumpkin fudge!

I don't have internet, that is why i don't ever update.

On the flip side. There was someone lurking outside my bedroom window the other night. Scared me. I hae a knife bigger than my arm, they better not come back (thinking of setting up bear trap outside of window).
Vicadin + headache = strange night the other night. Was unable to operate machinery in the morning.
Had a job interview in Muskegontown today. Don't know if I really want the job or not... Would love to work there, but pay is not promising and I was kind of ditzy with the interview. Might not even have a chance.
I <3 school. except printmaking. printmaking (esta una puta). They don't reccommend taking more than 3 studio classes a semester, but those are the only classes I have left to take and i need to take at least 4 to keep my loans. Maybe the lack of outside interfierance (sp...) is a good thing.

I found out that without stimulation my brain is turning to mush.

I saw GreenDay in concert Sunday night. Honestly... the best freaking "Big" show I have EVER been to. They may be the Devil Incarnate, but they have amazing stage presence.

Happy Birthday Mom and Megan.
